Baby's First Haircut
This piece was created for Xox Salon in order to provide clients with a keepsake of their child's first haircut. A three fold packet with a pouch for a lock of hair and a spot for a photograph was integrated into the design.
On The Boat
This is a poster/postcard series created for an event about the lives of Italian immigrants. Antiqued snapshots of immigrants are the central part of the design with contrasting typography anchoring the event information.
Bodoni Intro
This is a introductory spread to an article about Bodoni. I chose to display the typeface on a large scale to show its geometry and magnify the contrast between thick and thin. An overall modern design for a classic typeface.
A Father
Given a short story I was to illustrate and layout a two page spread. It was all hand drawn with pencil and watercolor. To evoke feeling within the story I focused on the tenderness of childhood and on father/son relationships.
Missing Parts
This is a dust jacket and table of contents designed for a book of short stories by Columbia students. It was designed in correlation to the "father" story. All illustrations are hand done with pencil and watercolor.
XOX Invite
This invitation was created for a party celebrating Xox's 15 year anniversary. The goal was to create a festive and eye-catching invite without having a Christmas party feel.
Graduation Invite
This invitation was for a graduate of multimedia design. The main component of the piece is an original photo of the graduate, capturing his essence. A simple bold design compliments the dry humor of the photograph.
Web Developer ID
These pieces were designed for a developer fresh out of school. Modern, funky and technology are key words when looking at this design.
Lexicography
This booklet was designed all around the dollar symbol, its meanings and associations. This booklet is meant to provoke thought through visuals and question ones values and what the world values.
Office Depot ID
This is a graphic standards manual for Office Depot's new identity. The main goal was to differentiate the company from its competitors like Office Max. I modernized the identity through photography, color, and typography, freeing it of clutter.
Body Glove
The previous packaging for this project was grey and boring unlike scuba diving itself. I brought in a little scuba culture into these packages with a tribal graphic overlaying an underwater photograph of tropical fish.
Burpee Seed Kit
This is a kit for beginner gardeners of all ages. The design entails a custom die-cut mimicking nature, photos used with illustration, and bright colors. It has a purpose beyond purchase since you can use it as a holder as the seeds grow.
Neville Brody Stamps
These are stamps designed to commemorate the designer Neville Brody. His silhouette, designs and typeface were incorporated into the stamps.
Wedding Invite
This invitation was for a small modern wedding. Therefore I chose to keep it modern and simple using the photograph of the couple as the focus. A delicate flower graphic laces the edges of the rich brown invite.
XOX Salon Identity
The salon's identity was redesigned with nature and modernity in mind. What resulted was a very modern design with elements of the natural world such as the leafy graphic and the lime green and dark brown colors.
